Sample status panel for a managed website: all systems operational, 30 days of uptime checks with one four-minute incident resolved, last backup verified off-site, SSL renewing automatically, three updates waiting in staging, response time within target, and server load.

What's included

Twelve jobs, organised into five disciplines.

Every part of keeping a website healthy, assigned to someone, scheduled, and logged where you can see it.

Monitor

Continuous checks, so problems are found by us, not by your customers.

  • Uptime and SSL monitoring

Checks around the clock, with alerts to an engineer who knows the site.

  • Server monitoring

CPU, memory, disk, database and queues.

  • Analytics monitoring

Broken tracking and traffic anomalies flagged.

Maintain

The routine work that keeps a site stable and current.

  • Maintenance

    Scheduled housekeeping, logs and cleanup.

  • Updates

Framework, CMS and library updates, tested on staging first.

  • Content updates

Text, images and pages changed on request.

Secure

Protection designed in and checked continuously, not added after an incident.

  • Security monitoring

Vulnerabilities, failed sign-ins and blocked requests watched.

  • Backups

Scheduled and off-site, with restore tests so we know they work.

Optimize

Keeping the site fast as content and traffic grow.

  • Performance

Core Web Vitals, caching and database tuning.

  • Technical support

Answers from engineers who know the code.

Improve

Fixing what is wrong today and improving what matters next.

  • Bug fixing

Reproduced, fixed and tested before release.

  • Continuous improvement

Suggestions in the monthly report, based on data and usage.

Incident response

What happens when something breaks.

Often we know before you do. How fast we respond depends on your plan; every incident follows the same four steps.

Sample log
  1. 01

    Detect

Monitoring spots the problem: failed checks, error spikes, slow responses or security alerts.

    10:14:08checkout: error rate above threshold
  2. 02

    Alert

An engineer is alerted right away, and you are told as your plan sets out.

  3. 03

    Fix

We find the cause and restore service, rolling back if needed, then fix the root cause properly.

    Report

A written incident report: what happened, the impact, and what we changed so it does not happen again.

FAQ

Questions about managed websites.

Can you manage a site you didn't build?

Yes. We start with an audit of the code, the hosting and the access, and tell you what has to be fixed before we take responsibility for it. Some sites need a round of updates, or a move to better hosting, first.

Does the site have to be hosted with you?

No, but it is simpler when it is, because we can see the server as well as the site. If it stays with your current host, we need access to the server or the control panel, and we agree in writing who handles what.

What happens when something breaks?

Monitoring alerts us, an engineer who knows the site looks at it, and the fix goes into the service log. If the cause is the server or a third-party service, we take it up with that provider directly.

Are new features part of the monthly fee?

Content updates, small changes and bug fixes are part of the plan. Larger work, such as a new section or an integration, is scoped separately before we start, so you know what it involves.

How do we see what was done?

Every plan has a service log of updates, backups, fixes and alerts, and a monthly report on uptime, speed and analytics. If something needs a decision from you, we raise it in the report or call you.

Ongoing care

Have your website looked after properly.

We start with a health check of the code, the server and the backups, then recommend the plan that fits.
